Jessica Bryson, M.ED:
Registered Psychotherapist

JESSICA BRYSON, M.ED (She/Her)
I am a Registered Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I have a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto, OISE and previously, a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre from UBC. I am currently obtaining my certification in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Trauma Research Foundation.
I have enjoyed a lifelong involvement in performing arts, specifically in improvisation, which leads me to bring creativity into my therapy practice. I use improvisation techniques in group settings to teach inter and intra personal skills development, such as effective communication, confidence, listening, body language interpretation and adaption, and emotion regulation.
I come to my work in therapeutic private practice with a diverse range of related experiences, the most recent of which include working at The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) to running therapy groups for people suffering from social anxiety. My practice flexibly incorporates a variety of modalities including, but not limited to: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Drama Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy.
I work within group and individual contexts with people who are of diverse backgrounds, with various presenting concerns, including issues with: anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, interpersonal dynamics, loneliness, self-esteem, processing break-ups, stress, burn-out, chronic pain and trauma. I hold my relationships with clients to be central, and my approach is relaxed, warm, and flexible. I work with the client to find the right path and style of therapy to meet each person’s individual goals. I strive to create a safe, anti-racist, anti-oppressive environment, that is BIPOC, queer, trans and sex work positive.
